A:B exposed at Arts Exposed!
On May 26~27, A:B took part in an event called Arts Exposed! organized by Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and World Design Capital Helsinki. Arts Exposed! was a two days sales event held at the World Design Capital Helsinki Pavilion built between the Design Museum and the Museum of Finnish Architecture in Helsinki. Total 40 teams(individuals) consisting of 20 alumni and 20 students from Aalto University were selected and provided certain size of space(table) at the pavilion for their own works or products display and sales activity. This event became meaningful to both alumni/students who often have difficulties to meet chances to promote their works or businesses and face their potential customers in person which definitely helps broaden the network for future step, and visitors/customers who could have a rare experience to meet young artists and designers and purchase their fresh creations with relatively cheaper price.
As an alumnus I was able to show A:B’s products at this events. Luckily the weather was more than great, thus the pavilion was filled with visitors as soon as the event announced itself open. We met many wonderful people there. It resulted in establishing the network of potential customers in the future and advertising the company, and also fine sales.
The World Design Capital Pavilion still stands at the same spot until Sep 16. It works as a symbol of the World Design Capital Helsinki and a hub of diverse events and activities. It offers many different kinds of events which wide-open to anyone regardless of occupation and education. You can check the upcoming events via this link.
