Week 9, 2013 – TJT-Kaluste Oy
Stefan of Orego, our partner on our new product, Bookshelf, suggested to meet TJT-Kaluste Oy to discuss production. We were pleasantly surprised by their facility and flexibility. TJT-Kaluste is relatively a young manufacturing company in Nummela, Finland, and their main business is interior walls and shelving system. As you can imagine, their customers are big – Alko, Intersport, Viking Line, just to mention a few. Tapio Routakorpi, one of the managing directors of the company, was surprisingly kind and flexible talking about the minimum order and delivery process. We think it is possible because in part they also run a small business Muunto, a smart shelving system for homes and commercial spaces.
With automated system they can help us make precise bookshelf with very little tolerance.
We visited all the factory buildings of TJT-Kaluste Oy that were full of various kinds of wooden components for different projects.
The factory also has facilities to process metal including punching, laser cutting, painting and more.
